How do I stop collection calls for someone else?

How do I stop collection calls for someone else? I have talked to customer service four times and have been told the calls would stop in 24hrs each time. I am still getting 4-6 calls a day.

    You can block numbers from calling or texting you. Sign into your account. There is a box that says block calls and texts. Select that box. Select your number. Type in the number you wish to block. You can block upto 5 numbers for free.

    The easiest way to stop the collection calls is to bring the bill current. The second easiest way is to contact financial services to set up a payment arrangement on the account. Once the account is in collection status, the calls are automated, so it takes an arrangement or payment to make them stop. If you are not the responsible party for the bill, they need to remove your number from the call list.

    It could be that the account has gone to an outside collection agency (or OCA) and that Verizon Wireless no longer has control of it. If this is the case, you would need to contact that agency and advise them that the number has been reassigned to you. If it continues, you can block the numbers as VZW NRB was explaining, but the financial department often calls from different numbers so this may not be the most efficient method.

    Another thing you could try is calling and asking to be added to the do not solicit list for non customers. I'm not sure this will resolve the issue if you're still listed as the call back number for the previous owner, but it's worth a try.

    Personally for me the easiest thing to do is use the Mr. Number app and block people. Let me know if you want to know more about the app. It's free and easy to use. Stops texts too.

    In addition to everything else suggested, if you have an Android device, you can add the # as a contact and send it straight to voicemail. If the Collection calls are from VZW, you can speak to our financial services (866-266-1445) to remove your # from the CBR (can be reached) dialer for that other account. If it's an outside company, add the call and message blocking for free which will block it for 90 days.
