This expert is helping you out because there weren't many active Time Warner Cable experts.

Joseph, I'm not quite exactly sure. You could try for a outgoing server instead. Also you save yourself a lot of time by calling the help desk at 1800twchelp.

      Thank You Drachir,

      I appreciate your reply.

I have tried different outgoing servers, including the one you suggested, but have seen the same problem. And, from time to time the problem goes away and the mail is then accepted by the TWC server. I believe this has happened ever since TWC upgraded their servers.

I had tried the helpdesk in the past and they were less than helpful after I waited a very long time to actually get someone with whom to talk. Therefore I thought I'd try the on-line help this time instead.

If I can't get this problem fixed sometime soon I'll need to consider cancelling my services with TWC (cable, internet, and phone) since TWC provides me with terrible customer service and are unable to fix problems.

      Thank You,

Joseph, a couple of other suggestions. Try calling 18008922253, explain your situation, and request level 3 support. I would continue to be insistant. Good luck!

Good news and information you may find helpful in the future. Rena from TWC was able to determine that the problem could be resolved by checking the "my server requires authentication" checkbox in the Windows7 Live Mail settings.

Wow, I'm that it helped. Now that you mention it, I use that same setting on my smartphone.

Try the SMTP settings in the following link.

As a TWC home phone customer, you can dial 611 from the home to get in touch with Tier 3 tech support without having to go through the "robot prompts". Good Luck!
