I have a dual receiver and the TV2 upstairs says the receiver is off.

I have a dual receiver and the TV2 upstairs says the receiver is off. It is not. How do I fix the problem? The receiver is connected to the TV downstairs and the front panel shows it is in dual mode, but it shows only that the receiver for TV1 is on. The green light for TV2 is not on. Incidentally, the red light does light up when we are recording using the TV2 receiver.

at tv2 location, do y ou see the dish logo?
you may still be in single mode

go to your rcvr, turn your tv on, now open the right panel on rcvr and push the 'mode' button til a blue light appears at front of rcvr (green light is tv1 , blue light is tv 2)

or try holding the power button on front panel for 6 seconds til rcvr reboots..

Yes. On TV2 the logo is there and it says that the receiver is off. The dish remote works the tv but it won't turn on the receiver for TV2. I tried to reboot the receiver and the blue light for TV2 would still not light up.

ok so your tv 2 dish remote might have lost its code

ok take your tv 2 remote to the rcvr downstairs.
take remote 1 and push MENU (top left corner)
      push 6 system setup
      push 1 installation
      push 3 system info.

pay attention to bottom right on the remote address for tv 2

      now take tv 2 remote
hold down the clear SAT button till all the lights on top flashes
      now push 5
      push #
push record button ( located at dvr spot or a button in middle of remote w/ red dot ) 10 times..you should see the remote address change to 5

ok now take remote 1 and push cancel 4-5 times
now take remote 2 and push the big red power button, look at rcvr to see if blue light is turning on and off.

oh yeh check behind rcvr to make sure the antenna is vertical, if you have it at horizontal, you may have trouble working the remote at tv 2 location.

The receiver is getting the UHF signal from the TV2 control because the blue icon for the UHF Pro Band A blinks when I press the Select button on the System Info screen. It just won't turn the receiver for TV2 on (the blue light).

hmmmmm change the batteries in tv 2 remote and try the steps above again to change the remote address to 5.

if it still doesnt work, you may have to schedule a tech visit for $15 w/ protection plan to have us replace it and go over the system to make sure its nothing else.

or call dish to have them send a replacement remote and do the steps above . prob take 3-5 business days to get to you.

TV has a blue light, If its still working and u have no problems I would let it b. If u call Dish Network 1-866-688-3274. They might have to take the DVR and replace it with another 1. U will lose all ur recordings. Try re-setting the DVR, Just unplug it for 5 minutes. Then plug it back in. Hope this helps.

you can take the remote to the receiver location and see if the blue light comes on when you push the big red power button on the remote. for that matter when you push the big red power button does the sat mode button light up? you can try the batteries.
