    Tom, first try unplugging the power cord and remove the satellite cable(s) for 15 seconds. If you don't get your locals back. Do the following....menu, settings/help, system setup, satellite, reprogram satellite, interrupt or press the dash below the number 7, press select to continue past the dish setup. continue all the way thru. If still no locals, call us at 1-800-531-5000. We will be glad to help!

      Sadly this can be caused by many different issues. If an unplug reset doesn't fix it, please call for further tech support. There might be a problem in your area too which they will know about. All the best!!

      The REAL answer to why I am not getting my local channels is that DirecrTV has not settled a contract with Viacom. Didn't you know that?

      Actually yes we did know that. It was settled in July! Here's the link: http://news.directv.com/2012/07/20/directv-and-.... The Viacom issue was also NOT local channels. Not getting locals is a completely different issue. Local channels are not 'owned' like cable channels. Each one is different. If you don't have a single local, it sounds like some bonehead might've removed them off your account. Call 1-800-531-5000 and find out what's up. Make sure locals is on your account (they are included in most packages) and make sure you ask for a rebate for programming missed if someone screwed up!!

    did you get 2-13 before? Does Directv carry that local? You can try resetting your receiver to see if that resolves the issue. If not, call 1-800-531-5000 to see if the local channel you are looking for is carried by Directv.

    when you tune to one of your local channels what does your TV screen show? It should show an error message of some type and with that information I'll be able to provide more of an accurate answer

    try resetting your receiver, if that does not work, call 1 800 531 5000 and have someone re send your authorizations. specifically your local channels

    Call directv at 1-800-531-5000 & have them send u a program hit. Sometimes the channels will do this. Or u can unplug ur receiver for 15 seconds then plug back in. This will reset ur receiver. Let me know if u need more help. Thank u.
