Suddenly my tv just says :
Cannot read access card
call customer service (745)
RID: 0004 3286 4320
Card: 0022-0721-8849.
What is going on?

    It could also be the card reader in the receiver - call 1-800-531-5000 and ask for technical support

    An issue with the access card. Could just be that communication got lost which is an easy fix. I would suggest going to and type in 721. Look on the page where it says resend authorizations. It's quicker and easier than calling, and always takes immediate effect. When a rep does it, it can take up to 24 hours. If this doesn't work call 1-800-531-5000 as you might need a new access card.

    First try resetting your box. Unplug the box pull the access card the put the card back in and plug box back in. Wait for the boot up to complete. If it still has the error you will need a replacement which you can get by calling. 18005315000

    One thing you could try is to remove the access card (door on the front right of the receiver), unplug the receiver for 15-30 seconds, plug it back in and wait for it to start up completely, and only when it says "insert your access card" put the card back in. If this (or the other tips mentioned) does not fix it you will need to call customer service. After some basic troubleshooting they will either send you a replacement or set you up with an appointment for a technician to come to your home.

    Try taking the card & pull it out then press it right back in. If ur still having problems unplug the receiver for 1 minute then plugged back in. Now if u still have a problem call direct at 1-800-531-5000 & we can send out a tech. Sorry bout ur problem. Hope what I've said is helpful. :)

    Sorry for your issue. With a code like that - It means either the access card has gone bad or the reader. Would be best to call into technical support at 1-800-531-5000 so that can assist. Tech Support will ask you to preform some real basic troubleshooting to determine if it's the card it self or the reader
