I can't answer with 100% accuracy, but almost assuredly yes. DirecTV takes our armed forces seriously and is grateful for what you do. Call 1-800-531-5000 to find out for sure. Thank for for your service and be safe!

Just make sure you tell DTV this reason for breaking contract, and you'll have no problems. •The Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act (SSCRA) was passed to protect the rights of military personal who are deployed or relocated.
?The act does not go as broad as to include cable or satellite carriers, but we’re taking the customer friendly position of letting deployed military personnel out of the programming agreements and administrative fees.

Tks for the clarification. I was quite sure, but hate to make guarantees I can't back up!

Hi Ivica. First let me say thank you for your service. When you call 1-800-531-5000 say close account when prompted. This will get you to the customer retention group. This is my department. Directv will waive your Early Cancellation Fee for any deployment. Just be sure to tell them it is for military and you will not have any problem.

Thanks for the info, I already asked this question to another member, but I will ask it here also in case somebody can answer this to me. Thanks. What if they tell me to freeze my account since basic camp is not even 6 months and they might say to do this instead of canceling?

Don't even tell them it is for basic - just tell them you are being deployed for training and not sure of where you will be after that but if you are able you will set up service with Directv again. No rep should give you a hard time.

Basic is the better part if three months, but there are very few ait courses that are shorter than 3 months. Just tell them you'll be learning Army telecommunications and you'll be learning on post for the next year.
