DIRECTV2PC is an application that lets you watch your favorite shows on your PC — in High Definition. With your DIRECTV Plus HD DVR receiver and PC connected to your home network, DIRECTV2PC software allows you to stream the programs you recorded on your DVR to your PC, where you can watch them in up to full HD resolution.

With DIRECTV2PC you'll be able to:

Stream recorded HD programming in full resolution from your DIRECTV Plus HD DVR to your PC.
Watch shows on your PC while live or recorded programming is being watched on your TV.
Enjoy the same DIRECTV screen interface on your PC as you do on your TV.
The download is now available at directv.com/directv2pc.

You need to be a DIRECTV subscriber with at least one DIRECTV Plus® HD DVR receiver with Advanced Receiver Service-DVR active. Your receiver must be connected to your home network and a DIRECTV2PC-compliant computer must also be connected to your home network. A DIRECTV2PC-compliant computer must meet the minimum system recommendations, which are: Dual core CPU, 512 MB Ram, 256 MB Graphics, and Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

No, not really; the ONLY way to do this is by having a TV tuner card, and then play the recording from the DirecTV DVR to your PC and record (If you have the correct programs); the only other way is what we call NOMAD. Nomad will allow you to take your HD DVR content with you wherever you go. Nomad will enable you to view previously recorded programs from your connected HD DVR on a computer or mobile device. Best of all, a network connection is not required to watch programming. Watch the video below on how to install and use nomad.

The short answer is you cant. Directv2 PC allows you to 'watch' DVR programming, but not record to a PC. You 'can' do it the old fashioned way. Hook up a VCR and start the DVR program, and hit record on the VCR.
