DirectTV HD DVR will not recognize my new router

cannot get my HD DVR connected to the internet via my wireless linksys 2500 router

installed a new router. Now I cannot get my HD DVR to recognize it and therefore cannot get any video on demand, etc. I tried to manually set it up with all the router info but that didn't work either. Even recycled the router, etc.

The hddvr doesn't have wireless capability unless there is an actual directv wireless broadband decca connected to the system. Other than that the hddvrs need to be hard wired via Ethernet cable. But if you have whole home dvr service, that will disable it. Then you will need a wired broadband decca

I had wireless connection with my old router, DirectTV set it up, so I should have it now.

What does the unit that directv setup look like? Is it small with a coax port and a power supply or white or is it big.?

I have the DirectTV HD DVR Receiver, and coming out from the room with my router/modem is a small white box/adapter w/a cable that runs to the tv in my office. I did not change anything (any cables) when I switched the router, just plugged the blue ethernet cable that was plugged into my modem into the new router. My DirectTV account says that my HD DVR was installed by a technician for internet, etc.

okay the white box that you have from directv, does it have its own power cable and is that little box plugged directly into your modem? and is there a cable (coax) leading to the switch that the other recievers lead to.( like its an actual directv reciever). if so, and youve tried to repeat setup, not restore, then when it says "we were unable to connect to the internet, there should be a code that it gives you in the bottom left corner of your screen. you'll have to call directv with that code and they can try to explane what it means. ive seen it a few times. usually theres a firewall or something on the router blocking the internet connectiion to the directv

Under network setup there should be an option to Restore Defaults. Try selecting that then Connect Now.
