I have a bill from about 3 years ago in a different state for a ridiculous amount.

I have a bill from about 3 years ago in a different state for a ridiculous amount. I had one dvr and internet in a studio apartment. i had no premium channels and never ordered movies. There is a note on the account that says all the equipment was returned, but they say I owe them $500. But they can not tell me what the charges are for. I called the collection agency that they sent the bill to and they cant tell me what the charges are for. Im moving and trying to set up service. How do i get around this?

Hello Melissa. I am sorry for the trouble you are having. At this point I believe your best bet would be to visit your local office and speak with a customer service representative face-to-face. There they can bring up your account and show you the charges and all the notes on your account. If there are notes stating that the equipment was returned then they should put in an escalation ticket to have the charges removed. It would be in their best interest to do this for you as they also rely on sales as part of their pay (commission) and have monthly quotas to meet so they should do everything the possibly can for you to get this straightened out for you. You can also try sending an email to the escalation department as well and see what response they offer you. That email address is We_Can_Help@Comcast.com

Please let me know if this helps Melissa or if I can assist further. :)

The dvr box costs around $350 the modem could be $50 upwards and then costs/fees afterwards. If comcast has no record of the equipment being returned or you do not have any receipt of the returned equipment, you could either use another name to get service or you would have to pay the balance owed first
