I have worked for several years in customer service for at&t. I have an in depth understanding of...
You most likely canceled service for your high speed internet in the middle of a billing cycle. Just because you do so, it doesn't change the current bill amount.
What happens is that you are sent what is called a "final bill" and it will state this on the bill statement. It will show you a prorated credit for the number of days between the day you canceled and the end of the billing cycle you canceled in. In most cases, this will result in a credit check being issued to you. Hope this helps.1 comment

Please call 800 288-2020 and ask for billing, then call your bank and tell them you no longer do business with AT&T and to end the automatic debit to your account. ask AT&T to send you a paper bill so you can see the charges, or log into your account online and see exactly what you were charged for. Sometimes, when you cancel the DSL it does not go through, so please call both places today.
