    It sounds like the cradle/base for the phone has gone bad. Cordless phones have a life expectancy of about 5 years so you got extra life out of yours. I would purchase a new one and that should solve your problem. They''ve gotten cheaper- you should be able to find a good one for under $40 at Wal Mart. Hope that helps!

    You can look for a charge station on amazon or ebay. Just type in the model of your cordless phone + charging station. If this is not the route you want to go, just stop by walmart or radioshack, cordless phones are very cheap these days.
