Sounds like your phone might have come in contact with water. Blank screens are common under water damage. Agree with verizonman check into a verizon store. They will check your warranty, upgrade options, or insurance.

The screen wasn't blank, it was blinking. The Verizon store said it was a software failure and couldn't be fixed and they sold me a new phone. They also said that since they couldn't wake the Juke phone up from blink mode, they could not use Backup Assistant to retrieve my contacts list. They never suggested a software update.
I'd still like to find out how to reboot the phone so I can retrieve my contacts list.

Verizon stores are not technicians. Your software update could easily wipe the phones memory and contacts. Your best bet is to Goto a repair shop.

      Try these.

      -Cell phone repair
      -Mobile kangaroo

Local cellphone repair shop said the power on command was recycling, and they could restore the factory settings for the phone to make it work properly, but that would destroy the contacts list. So contrary to the Verizon store, the phone was repairable and I didn't need to purchase a new one and a new 2-yr contract. It didn't seem worth the hassle to return my new Verizon phone, get a refund, get the Juke repaired, then have Verizon reactivate it, and still not have my contacts list. Thanks again for your helpful suggestion which helped me decide to end this effort.

Faster than even our 4G LTE

The Hule is a Pretty old phone. As such, it probably needs a software update big time. If that doesn't work, it day be time to replace. Take it into a corporate Verizon store to look at both options
