Accepted answerHave they taken the discount off already?
I need some more information to figure out what discounts you may be eligible for. Some things you can try:
Talk text data discount
Mobile to any mobile plan
65+ plans
To get the best discounts possible, call customer service and ask if you are eligible for any of these. Also as for them to "right size my rate plan." This will ensure you get the best possible rate.1 comment1 other expert is backing this answer

If verizon has not removed the discount, just don't tell them you are retired. The discount should stay unless someone prompts you to revalidate it.

Depending on the company, they may make the discount eligible for employees that are retired. It could be worth while to have a verizon representative check to see if the discount is available for employee retires.

We tried that already and, unfortunately, they would not make it available to retirees. -
