I live in a FIOS area but do not want FIOS, due to conflicts in my 200-year old home. But now, Verizon is crippling my Internet & Phone services in order to force my hand. I want the most basic phone service available and high-speed internet. What can I do?

You may want to find out if Verizon is doing away with their copper services in your location. If this is the case and you are not interested in FiOS, perhaps there is another company offering services that would better suit your needs in your area. I would first contact Verizon and ask to speak with a supervisor regarding the issue. If you do not get an answer that is sufficient, you can use the contact site on verizon.com to send correspondence through the mail that will go directly to upper management.

Question, why do you not want FiOS? It's connected into your existing wiring in the home.
Verizon currently has a directive to get all customers off of the old copper services. The copper plant is being phased out and is not being maintained. Anywhere that has FiOS available is being pushed over if customers experience service issue with the old copper service. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do, technology has changed.
