I can't get/send messages or calls, and my phone says that it can't get signal.

I can't get/send messages or calls, and my phone says that it can't get signal. It also seems to reset itself every 10 minutes or so.
It appears to have reset itself to its factory settings, too.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy and I've had it for about a year now.

How long has this been happening?
When the phone comes on, what is on the screen?
Is there any data left? If not you may want to do a factory reset.
Did you download any specific apps before this began happening?

This is been happening from about 9 am this morning.
When the phone comes on, it has still retained my previous background, but everything is incredibly slow to respond.
My contacts are still saved onto the phone, so I assume there is data left.
And no, I didn't download any specific apps before this.
also, if this helps any, my phone now keeps telling me that I have low battery, (which shouldn't be the case, since I charged it up last night, and it usually lasts a lot longer) and for me to stop all other processes. it's also vibrating randomly and the screen blacks out every few minutes or so.

It sounds like with the lack of service it's draining the battery rapidly, which is common as when the phone is searching for service it uses more battery.

If you would like to perform a factory reset: go to settings, privacy, factory data reset. Be warned this will erase any data in your phone.

To ensure you don't lose your contacts, be sure they are backed up with either google or backup assistant. You can also back them up onto a memory card if you have one, you can do this by going into your contact list, pressing menu, import/export and choose to export to SD card. Then, once the reset is complete and the phone comes back on you can follow the same steps to import FROM SD card.

      Hope that helps!
