Entering the incorrect password too many times will eventually ask for your Gmail password originally set up on the device. If it does not prompt you then the device must be factory reset. Manually do this by pulling the battery out and back in, and while off hold the volume down, search key (magnifying glass), and power buttons together until a recovery screen pops up. Here you will have to press the menu key to get your recovery options, use the volume buttons to navigate to "wipe data/factory reset" and press the home key to confirm. Give it a few minutes to wipe, ensure it is plugged in or at least charged during this process to prevent any other failures. Once restarted it will prompt you to reactivate the phone and sign in to your Gmail again. Hope this helps, let us know.
