I would begin by going to the United website - then selecting "Services and Information" followed by "refunds". I am assuming this is a nonrefundable ticket, so select that option and begin. Input all the information necessary and submit for a refund.
Below is the information for change/exchange tickets:
Contact United Reservations if you wish to make changes to:
* A paper ticket
* Multiple-carrier reservations
* A ticket that does not have your Mileage Plus number on it

I would work on doing this as quickly as possible - I would imagine you only have a certain period of time to reverse the change before you have to pay to switch the ticket. -
