My name is Rebecca Ford , and sadly I have to cancel my friend , Linda Shoemate's and my travel plans for this weekend. I don't know exactlly what you will need me to send you, but what ever it is, i will get it to you.
You see my best friend for 25 year was diagnosed with Cancer the first week of February , that is why we booked the fight . We where going to visit family in Texas, but things have progressed in the worst way , tomorrow we are bringing her home with the help of Hospice so she can be at home for her final days . So please where do i start ?

My heart goes out to you and your friend especially. I am so sorry. You can go to United.com and do what Fly by night and day said. If its easier for you to call customer care at 847-700-4000 and explain your situation you can get help that way as well with the proper documentation. You also can call 1800UNITED1 and speak to a supervisor and give them your reservation and explain the situation and they should be able to help you right away over the phone and let you know where to fax the documentation for proof. Rebecca, I am so sorry to hear of your friend's situation. Go to United.com and click Change/Cancel to delete the reservation. If she is holding a non-refundable ticket you can send medical documentation to Customer Care on United.com , requesting a full refund (there may be a small processing fee}. Normally only a change is allowed for future travel after penalty but this is not feasible in this case. Explain fully in the documents that you will attach, her health situation. I wish you the best.
