The phone is no good. One of the worst phones T-Mobile released. Return it and get something like a Samsung Exhibit II. If not try to see if you can get a warranty exchange the problems with this handset are widespread and most shouldn't give you a hard time to replance/exchange. Sorry you have these problems.

I work for a T-Mobile retail location, and have a deep knowledge of how the company works. I may not always...

definitely sounds like an issue with the phone. I would contact customer care to set up a warranty exchange.

    almost know it all

Make sure you check the setting on the phone. Menu-settings-wireless and networks-mobile networks and make sure data roaming and data roaming sound boxes are checked. Make sure you are using the new sim card in the phone.

Saving the world from high cellphone bill prices!

First off when you got the phone did the rep replace your sim with the one in the box? The new mytouch's are far from the worst! ( samsung gravity smart [red] takes that trophy) The full price of the phone is, well was a bargin for the hardware when it was $280. I do agree the exhibit 2 is better comparing prices. It could be that you got a lemon of a device and just have it replaced. How long have you had it? less than 14 days return it in store or where ever you got it and get the same phone again. That will avoid the restocking fee of $50... ALSO take a close look on the bar code sticker on the box you'll see a date. ask whom ever to get a replacement with a different date. That will give you a device from a different batch and hopefully keep issues away.
