my cell phone got some water a very small amount, but when taking it out of the bag it was in, it fell on the cement. I took out the battery and sim card and then put them back in. It sounded like it was going to come back on and the screen was 'blinking.' I tried this several times. It is now being charged, but looks 'dead.' can you help? I am out of town and need my phone. thanks

I work for a T-Mobile retail location, and have a deep knowledge of how the company works. I may not always...

There isn't too much you can do. Water is the arch enemy of electronics. You can try to put the phone in a bowl of uncooked rice overnight. Sometimes it can absorb the moisture. Otherwise If there is a retail location near you and u need a phone ASAP you could get a loaner phone.

I was actually thinking it was the drop that killed the phone rather than the bit of melted ice cubes. Is that possible?

Very much so or even a combination of the two. If you have insurance I would file a claim. If not...there aren't many options.

thanks for your help. Is it possible to take the SIM card out and buy a pre-paid phone and use the card in that one and not buy pre-pay? I just need a phone and don't know where there is a T-Mobile store.

You can put the sim card into another phone but you need to make sure tia. The phone is unlocked.

Real questions deserve real answers! I give you the inside tips that really help you negotiate effectively...

It is possible the drop is the main reason your phone is "dead". If you have insurance you can file a claim and after paying the deductible they can overnight a phone to you...in the mean time you could get a loaner phone. If no insurance and you are eligible for an upgrade that would be an option to get a new phone for a good price. Good luck!
