Can someone with a t-mobile account take a phone that was sold by verizon and use it with their t-mobile account? and if so what do they have to do to be able to use it? I understand that tmobile uses a sim card and verison does not.

usually not, since verizon phones are on cdma network, where is t mobile phones are on gsm. since cdma phones have no place for a sim card, they will not work with t mobile service.

I work for a T-Mobile retail location, and have a deep knowledge of how the company works. I may not always...

Only if the phone will also work with a sum card. some blackberries are like this. but generally speaking no a Verizon phone will not work with T-Mobile

    almost know it all

You need an unlocked phone that uses a sim card

The verizon phone would have to be a world device, is what I think the call them. few blackberries and few androids (droid 2 global and droid pro) that I can think of. You would be better off selling the verizon phone and buying a T-mobile or unlocked in general phone.

so its possible but unlikely you have a global devicebecause of it being a rare device on verizon.

OH! last thought on that, even if the device is global I know like the droid 2 global you have to hack the phone to get the sim to work. I dont think its worth the effort.
