Your data plan IS truly unlimited. The $10 charge is for your smartphone - they cost an extra $10 a month on top of your calling plan. Basic phones are not subject to this charge. The reason being, Sprint was looking at the possibility of going to a capped data system but instead decided to charge the extra $10 and use it towards upgrading the cell sites to still be able to support unlimited use. Other than your calling plan plus the $10 charge, you will never be charged any extra fees for internet use, no matter how much you use.

the ten buck charge is normaly for 4G service. it turned into a smart phoen charge. personally it is a rip off if you live in an area with no 4G. thats just wasting money. plus i feel it is wrong to charge an extra charge for a smartphone just because. but your not the only one with that charge everyone has it. free money for sprint. :/

Hey thanks quick solution for throwing your company under the bus. Go ahead and checkout Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile data plans and see how they stack up. T-Mobile and AT&Twill throtle you down to 2G speeds after about 2 GB of usage. Have fun with that. The $10 reflects the extra costs associated with any smartphones that automatically use data ALL the TIME so you can get your Visual Voicemail, Twitter and Facebook updates, email, weather and sports scores on the fly, etc, etc, etc. And by the way our contract does not say anything about unlimited data, your rate plan does and that is different than your contract and subject to change (that part IS in your contract)
