    Ok u can do this as long as ur reciever is hooked up to an HDMI wire. R reciever (722) only has one out. So....

      Go to the back of ur reciever and look for the RCA hook-ups. That's the red, white & yellow on the tv-1 side. Hook the RCA jacks up then go to ur VCR or DVD player RCA jack hook-up. There should b a red, white & yellow hook-up behind the player too. If.....

      Ur not using the Hdmi hook-up, hook it directly to ur tv from ur VCR or DVD player. U can't record in that case. Let me know if this is helpful, if not I will help u even more. Thank u!!!!!

      One more thing If ur scorned is a non-hd or a 211 u can use RG-6 wire to go from ur VCR to reciever & also back to the TV. Just trying to cover all the bases.

    from vcr to tv using a cable (output on vcr to tv ) on channel 3

    from rcvr to tv using rca cables (red,white,yellow) on video input 1
    unless you have a HD rcvr- use HDMI cable from rcvr to HDMI 1 on tv input
