Ok u can do this as long as ur reciever is hooked up to an HDMI wire. R reciever (722) only has one out. So....3 comments

from vcr to tv using a cable (output on vcr to tv ) on channel 3
from rcvr to tv using rca cables (red,white,yellow) on video input 1
unless you have a HD rcvr- use HDMI cable from rcvr to HDMI 1 on tv input
