    If your tv has an optical audio out the I would suggest connecting this port with an optical audio cable to the home theater and then any component that you hook to your tv will also play through the surround.

      If your tv does not have an optical out then the Dish receiver does and you can connect the Dish receiver to the surround in this way. The optical audio cable provides far superior sound than the old red and white cables. Let me know if I can help further.

      Is the digital audio fiber optic cable same as the optical audio cable? Hooked it up with the Dish receiver and the Home Theater. Still won't work.

      yes it is the same cable make sure you have the audio receiver on the correct input. There should be an input button on the audio receiver. you may want to refer to the owners Manuel, I am researching samsungs website right now to see what I can find. Is this a dvd player also?

      Try pressing the function button or the aux button on the audio receiver remote until the audio receiver says digital in.
