Can't get my DISH remote to work with all functions of my Vizio 32" TV. How can I get it programmed? What is the 3 digit code I need?

    773 is the code I always use for vizio's but you won't get full functionality with the dish remote on a vizio tv. the manufacturer didn't set it up that way, but you will get volume and power. good luck

      Theres the codes. Here's another way. Press and hold the TV button at the very very top tiill all 4 lites lite up. Then press the big red button once. Then pree the channel up slowly till ur tv turns off. Once it does press the pound (#) button once. Now press the BIG RED POWER BUTTON 3 to 5 times or until ur tv comes back on.       Thanks. It's fine except for still not being able to mute, adjust volume nor turn off on the DISH remote. I still need to use both Vizio and Dish remotes. The codes didn't work. But thanks for your suggestions anyway.

      Ur welcome, But my dish remote does everything. If u would like u can call dish at 1-800-333-3474 & tell them ur remote is bad & they will send u a new one. No cost!!!!! This way u know if it's ur dish remote. Hope this helps. :)

    Long time Dish CSR and life long satellite and home theater enthusiast.

    Your remote may be in Limited Mode or it may not be programmed with the right code. When you press the TV button, it should illuminate for a moment and then go out. If the SAT light comes on instead, jump down to my instructions to reprogram the remote below.

    Unfortunately some of the features may not work. The remote may not be compatible with certain features.

    If you have a 20.x, 21.x, 32.x, or 40.x series remote, you may be able to teach the remote the missing commands. Simply follow these instructions: http://www.mydish.com/support/40-remote You may need to select your specific model on the left hand side of the page.

    If you don't have one of these remotes, you try a few additional codes. Those are found here: http://www.mydish.com/support/apps/remotecodes.... The codes are entered by holding the TV button until all the lights at the top of the remote illuminate, enter the three digit code, then press #. Then test your controls. If everything is working, press SAT to return to normal viewing. If you're still having trouble, try the next code.

      I don't see a remote model number. Do you mean on the DISH remote or the Vizio?

      the model # is on the sticker on the back of the dish remote

      Yes, that's it. It is possible to teach the remote the additional commands let me know when you're ready

      On the left side of your dish remote near the top, there is a small window
      set your tv remote and your dish remote on a table with the tv remote pointing at the window on the dish remote
      press and hold the clear TV button on the dish remote till all the lights come on (tv light will flash)
      next press, and release the recall button on the dish remote (tv light will be steady on)
      next press, and hold the record button (tv light will go off hold button till it comes back on)
      now press and release the button you want to program on the dish remote. (example- volume up)
      now press and hold volume up on the tv remote until the tv light goes off, then on (make sure the tv remote is pointed at the small window)
      volume up is now programmed repeat with volume down—press and release vol dn on dish remote
      press and hold volume dn on the tv remote until the tv light goes off, then on
      repeat these two steps for all the buttons you want to program
      once all buttons are programmed, press and release another mode button (ex dvd) then wait the tv light will flash three times. All buttons should work.
      This can only be done once, so if you miss a button, you will need to start over at the beginning.

      No, I can't get any of the suggestions I've received to work though I've tried several times on each one. Guess I'll have to call the DISH or just live with 2 remotes. I do appreciate your time and help though.
