I have directTV and must have hit something on my remote that was wrong, but the screen went black and I get that exclamation (!) mark in yellow at the bottom right of the screen and it says NO SIGNAL. How do I get it back?

The tv input button until your Directv comes on

The receiver is on and I held the input TV button down for 6 seconds &.nothing happens.
The upper right hand corner says the number 4, but even when I try to change the channel nothing happens. Guess I'll have to call the 800# iIf you have no other suggestions

does the remote blink at all when you press the input button??? if not, hold the mute and select button for a few seconds until the remote blinks, the press 9-6-0. and try it again. i can walk you through this trust me

when I held down the TV input button, the light on the lower left on the TV blinks, but on the remote (up top where the little button slides from DTV over to TV, that TV light stayed on while I held the input button down -but it did not blink. Then I tried holding the mute and select button down like you said, but the remote still did not blink and I entered 960. After about a minute the words on the TV changed from NO SIGNAL to the TV WILL TURN OFF IN A FEW SECONDS - and it did. I waited awhile and turned the TV back on......it still says channel 4 and NO SIGNAL

Okay, do you have you actual tv remote? If so, press 03. If it still says no signal, press the tv input button or source button to change inputs, DO NOT HOLD THE INPUT BUTTON DOWN, THAT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING.

Found the other remote. pressed 03 and I HAVE A PICTURE ! !. Thank you.
I had tried pressing 3 a number of times before on the Direct TV remote and nothing changed. Was it because I was pressing 3 and not 03? If that's all it was I sure wasted a lot of my time and yours. But you were right, you really did help. This answer board is wonderful. Thanks for being willing to give up your time to help others.

well using the Directv remote and pressing channel 3 will actually try to change your Directv channel, not you actual tv channel of that makes sense, you could have used the Directv remote if you moved over the mode switch over to tv and pressed channel 3. But that was easier . Glad to hear your tv is back on. What I'm here for, here's my personal link if you have any other questions. http://www.insidr.com/in/tech-2

On the television or original TV remote there will be a button that says input, source, av, or TV/video. Push this and wait 2 seconds. Keep doing that and you'll cycle through all the inputs. On one you 'should' get picture back :-)

I cycled through each one until I got back to TV and I still have no signal. What did I do to lose it. I have a TV in the other room and it's working fine.

Very strange. The no signal is the classic scenario for an input issue. Make sure you're waiting for the signal to get through (2-3 seconds max), check all the cables and lastly try resetting receiver by unplugging. Between these it will either work, or you'll need a tech to check your system, but 99.9% of the time this can be fixed by wiring or changing input. If all else fails call 1-800-531-5000 (pound '0' to get though). Hope you can get it going!!

I can Help; I've been trained by DirecTV. I have worked as a Technical Support Supervisor for DirecTV for...

no signal is from your TV. Slowly cycle through all of your TV inputs. You might need to call your TV Manufacturer, if need be respond back with the brand of your TV and I can provide their number and they can help you cycle your TV inputs
