Accepted answerFirst thing make sure that your DVR is hooked up and networked properly. Menu, settings, system setup, network, connect now.
Second do not use windows media player. Use Tversity to share your pics, music to your HD-DVR. <http://tversity.com/download>
Once you get it installed and up and running, it will do a complete search for all media on your computer. Once this is done, the setup is pretty cut and dried. Under the library tab, add the locations of any media you wish to share. Also check the status tab to make sure that it can see your DVR and that media sharing has started. Once you go through the setup, you should then see an option in the DVR menu called Music, photos and more. I may have left out a few steps, but post any additional questions and I will help the best that I can.

You cannot 'stream' from a computer to DirecTV. You can hookup 'most' laptops to flatscreen TVs via HDMI cable. You would need to change input and possibly screen size. If this doesn't answer, please give more info. Thanks!

From my experience on this i don't think that is possible. I'm pretty sure if it is possible u need the whole home DVR... Sorry to b so iffy on this, but i don't have alot of experience with that dept... If u call us at 1-800-531-5000 or maybe one of the insider can b more helpful.. Sorry, but thank u for being a cust..
