Hello.

Hello. I had house guests who tried to use my TV and with the multiple remotes, put the system in a tizzy. now i can get nothing but a spanish station, yet I am a direct TV subcriber. My cable box is on, but I can not access any channels and need direction for how to do so, the sooner the better. Many thanks.

    Make sure the slider switch on the top of the remote is all the way to the left, and try direct tuning to 202 (cnn)

      by the way DTV carries a surprising amount of Spanish programming in standard packages, including locals, sports, and HBO Latino. No worries, we'll get you back on American soil!

      nice to hear from you, thank you. did what you said. the button is all the way over to the left on direct tv. plugged in 202 and got CNN banner on top, but blank black screen. btw, when i put on guide I get all the channels, and I can scroll up or down, but when I select one, it is spanish, or blank black, or the screen says that i have not paid for the channel - even if the channel is the local NBC or CBS affiliate.

      Okay, well several things could've happened but let's just try and fix it. First off restart the receiver by unplugging it for 15-20 seconds. It will automatically restart (which can take 5-10 minutes). While that is happening, go to www.directv.com and sign up (or sign up, it's quick and easy). Then go to https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/mydirectv/mysyst... This is on my account but should get you there. If reset doesn't work you need to 'resend authorizations' to that receiver and it's easy to do online. I'll be around for a while, so let me know.

    Try restarting the receiver, if that doesn't work, call 18005315000 and ask them to re send authorization

    When the channels you're getting are playing Spanish audio, often times this is because the SAP (Secondary Audio Programming) was activated on your receiver. See this page for help on changing this setting on your equipment:
