I have worked for Delta Air Lines for over 12 years. I have worked in Reservations, as a ticketing agent at...
When you check in you will need your passports so that the information can be added to their reservation. I don't know this for sure since I flew Delta to Iceland but I believe the prior registration may be just an Iceland Air policy. I just checked in as normal at the kiosk. If all of you have American Passports they are digital and you can actually scan them at the Kiosk to check in. People think they have to see a person and tend to stand in line but the kiosk can do everything (including check your bags) that an agent can do. The *only* times a kiosk can't be used to check in is if the country requires a Visa to enter or if the passport is from another country and is handwritten or not electronically coded. When you get to the airport use the kiosk and if you have any problems there are supposed to be agents that are assigned to the kiosk specifically to help you if you hit a rough patch. Enjoy Dublin... It's beautiful!
