Bereavement fares are available only by calling Delta Reservations at 1-800-221-1212. Medical Fares are available when traveling within the 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Required Documentation
The following information is required so that you can purchase a ticket using Bereavement Fares:
Deceased person’s name
Passenger's relationship to the deceased
Name and phone number of funeral home, hospital or hospice
Name of doctor (if applicable)

Yes, Delta does offer bereavement fares in cases where a family member is involved. Bereavement fares are often, but not always less expensive than normal published fares but do not have fees or penalties involved for changes you might make to your travel plans.
