My mom took my cable box last month , She just gave it back but the box isn't cutting on .

make sure the cable from the wall to the box is conneted to cable in or RF in
if not connected properly and you have a cisco/ sientific atlanta box then it will not light back on -
It could be that we just need to send it a signal to reactivate it is as well. You can call 1-800-COMCAST and let the representative know that the box won't come on. We can send signals to see if the box is responding. If it is, we can reactivate over the phone. If it is not, it could be hooked up incorrectly. Cable from the wall has to go into RF In or Cable In jack on the back of the box.

You may need to swap the box, but you may just need to leave it connected for a little while. The box hasn't had any service for a month, so there may be some service updates or downloads that need to happen.
Make sure the cable line is connected at the wall, then make sure you have it screwed onto the post that says CABLE IN. Connect to your tv in whatever way you usually do, then plug in the power. Give it an hour or so to finish updates and synchronizing with Comcast services. If it still will not work at this point, you need to ask your mom to swap it in the office. -
Save yourself a lot of headaches and take it to a local office and swap it out. Remember to bring the box, power cord, and remote sometimes we do not have the same cable equipment.
