My Comcast remote won't control my TV anymore, suddenly.

My Comcast remote won't control my TV anymore, suddenly. It controls the cable box just fine. I tried to reprogram it, and when I entered a code it blinked twice like it was right but, wouldn't turn the TV off. When I push anything it switches to the 'cable' and blinks twice.

    If you cant get it to respond with the code I would reboot the infrared snesor in the box first before going to swap out the remote because if thats the issue a new remote isnt going to solve the problem sadly. Just unplug the box from the outlet in the wall/leave it down for about 30 sec/then plug it back in. When it comes back up try it without reprogramming anything first, it may just work, if not try to reprogram again.

    You can also try clearing the remote before you try reprogramming it by taking out the batteries and pressing the zero a couple of times to discharge the capacitors in it. Then replace the batteries and try it before you reprogram.
