You don't need any software downloaded to access the internet. You may have to go through reigstration of your equipment but that will be evident if you get the screen with the wizard that walks you through that process. That would be necessary if you moved. Any time you change addresses and have Comcast services there, we need to issue a new account number as the account numbers are specific to the home address where the service is.
