I called b of a after falling behind on payments and asked for a forbearance, they said no apply for modificiation (I can now afford my payments, it was only due to temporary illness), that process took months for them to deny me, now in foreclosure, and waiting for them to decide on a repayment program. I feel all they want is me to sink. I call everyother day only to end up without answers.

    Let's be great TOGETHER!

what are you looking for exactly?........ if you want to get a modification then you need to call and have them fill out the financial assessment for you. After that you should be assigned a case worker that will be your one point of contact with everyone. how many payments are you behind?.......and do you have up front funds?....those all matter......but they can have your foreclosure postponed because it should be noted on your account that you have called numerous times. When you call again make sure you are not blind transferred. Make sure the representative waits on the phone until the person they will attempt to transfer you to is on the phone as well!.......... but your foreclosure can be postponed

This expert is helping you out because there weren't many active Bank of America experts.

Hi Diane, Timberwolf is right on. I want to add a some additional info - just in case.

If you run into any troubles or delays you have an alternative. Bank of America has partnered with an organization called HopeNow. HopeNow has a system that can submit paperwork electronically to BofA.

HOPE LoanPort® is a web-based tool that streamlines home retention applications on behalf of homeowners at-risk of foreclosure, allowing housing counselors to efficiently transmit completed applications to mortgage companies . It eliminates lost paperwork and allows for a faster decision on a homeowner’s application.

You can call 1-888-995-HOPE for free personalized guidance from housing counseling agencies certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Homeowner’s HOPE™ Hotline – open 24/7 – is operated by the Homeownership Preservation Foundation, a nonprofit member of the
HOPE NOW Alliance of mortgage industry members and
HUD-certified counseling agencies. Or visit www.hopenow.com
