    Freedom for Everyone!

What device is it? That can make a difference on what service you get.

You will need to have the device unlocked and an ATT SIM. I have just passed along the Amaze 4G I've been using on ATT for the last few months to my wife.

What make and model is under the battery. There may be a free method and I can tell you if it will work with ATT's 3G/HSPA+ 4G.

what does it say for the model? like what is it next to?

      LG-P509??

Yes. You'll either need to ask T-Mobile for the code or pay a secondary service for the unlock if denied. In addition, you will have GSM/EDGE, but not 3G service on ATT due to the frequencies provided with that device.

      ATT uses 850 and 1900 for it's UMTS 3G. T-Mobile uses AWS (1700/2100 combo).

All you have to do is get the phone unlocked. If you call At&t tell them you need your phone unlocked because ypu are traveling. As long as your contract is expired on that phone, they can unlock it.

    Hey Caleb,

The only way to use any phone with another company is to download a root kit on your computer, and install it on your phone (basically unlocking your phone). Then you will have the capability of logging on to other servers/networks (aka ATT).

I have been a Manager with a third party ATT group for 5+ years. I have seen several situations, and have...

Call Tmobile and have your device unlocked...then it will accept an att sim card and service. Once you have att call 611 or 800-331-0500 to activate on att network!

i have been with att for 10 years and have been over data mitigation and helping cusotmers employees...

if you are using a tmobile android phone from tmobile you will need to make sure your contacts are stored so you dont loose them number one just incase. the phone must have an unlock code and an att sim card as well. one word of caution. before using it..ensure that the frequencies that the phone works of will sustain with att networks. as all phones run off of different spectrum ie frequencies. this could cause dropped calls or unexpected data issues.

contact tmobile by either calling or visiting a local store and let them know you would like to port over your number. They will get release from at&t for the number and cancel your at&t account, the account has to be active in order to port though, so please make sure payments are up to date and you have no cancel request pending.Usually the tmobile devices are running correctly after a few hours but I have seen it take up to 2 days with a customer having to use both companies devices ( then your really cool looking :) )
